A large-scale project to equip Grozny Airport with domestically produced aeronautical equipment has been completed. The final stage was the installation of a landing system that ensures precision landings in low visibility conditions. The equipment also includes an air traffic control system, a radio beacon, a radar, and a direction finder. As the developer’s CEO noted, Grozny has become another successful example of modernizing Russia’s aviation infrastructure, according to a statement from the Rostec State Corporation press service.
The ILS 2700 generates radio signals that onboard equipment uses to determine the aircraft’s position relative to the runway. The system transmits course deviation and glide path data to the crew—the aircraft’s estimated descent path during landing. This helps maintain precise descent direction and angle, even in low visibility conditions.
Azimut previously installed a wide range of aeronautical equipment in Grozny. It includes the Galaktika air traffic control automation system, the RMP-200 radio beacon, the AORL-AMI 2700 new-generation radar, the DF 2000 automatic direction finder, the TRS 2000 automated transmitting and receiving center, and a comprehensive air traffic control simulator.
