The Harpiya-A1 (E) loitering munition is being introduced to the global market. It is the only one in its class with a range of up to 1,000 km and a warhead weighing over 50 kg. The drone has already demonstrated its high effectiveness in real combat conditions. As Rosoboronexport’s Director General noted, the system has already attracted the interest of foreign partners. The company is ready to negotiate supplies and possible localization of production, according to the press service of Rostec State Corporation.
The Harpiya-A1 (E) system is designed to engage stationary targets with specified coordinates. «Today, the Harpiya-A1 (E) is the only loitering munition on the global market with a range of up to 1,000 km.» «It can carry a warhead weighing over 50 kg, and its error probabilities are no more than 4 meters,» said Alexander Mikheev, Deputy Chairman of Soyuzmash and Director General of Rosoboronexport. «Thanks to its unique market characteristics and the excellent results demonstrated during actual combat use, the export version of the UAV has already attracted the interest of foreign customers and has been presented to a number of partners. Rosoboronexport is open to negotiations on the supply of the Harpia-A1 (E) system and the localization of its production in countries friendly to Russia.»
The long-range UAV BLA-D, part of the Harpia-A1 (E) system, is designed as a flying wing with a pusher propeller. It has a gasoline engine for propulsion. The loitering munition BLA-D can fly at altitudes from 50 to 2,500 meters with a maximum speed of at least 170 km/h. The maximum flight range is at least 1,000 km, and the maximum flight endurance is at least 6 hours. Flight is automatic. The fuselage length of the munition is 3.4 meters, the wingspan is 3 meters, and the takeoff weight is 250 kg.
«When conducting contract and supply work for Russian military products, Rosoboronexport primarily considers the need for the manufacturer to fulfill its obligations to the Russian Ministry of Defense. Currently, the Almaz-Antey Air Defense Concern has mastered serial production of the Harpiya-A1 (E) system and has reached a level that allows it to fulfill contracts with foreign customers within competitive timeframes without compromising the country’s defense capability,» added Alexander Mikheev.
